The firm is organised to enable small teams of staff, led by a partner, to provide clients with a range of services.
Our professional staff are divided into four work groups, each of which comprises a number of managers, supervisors and students. One of the supervisors/managers acts as group co-ordinator. The managers and supervisors are responsible for their own portfolios of work. Most partners work with staff from each work group.
The workload of each group provides students with practical experience of accountancy, tax, audit and other services. Students are given every opportunity to enhance their IT skills in their professional work.
| | Initially students acquire a basic knowledge of each accounting discipline and familiarising themselves with the firm’s procedures. During this period students should expect to be assigned to straightforward tasks but as their abilities develop the work is increasingly interesting and demanding. Partners and managers are always willing to delegate responsibility to those able to accept it.
Students have a formal appraisal meeting with the HR manager and group co-ordinator twice a year to review progress, followed by a further meeting with a partner. One of the purposes of these meetings is to ensure that each student has an appropriate range of experience.
