Dixon Wilson team completes Trailwalker Challenge 2014 and raise £4,600 in support of Oxfam

A team of eight from Dixon Wilson completed the Trailwalker Challenge 2014 in support of Oxfam and The Ghurkha Welfare Trust. The event took place on the weekend of 26 and 27 July and involved walking 100km (the equivalent of 2.5 marathons) in one attempt along the South Downs Way, starting in Petersfield and finishing at Brighton Racecourse. All eight members of the Dixon Wilson team completed the challenge in its entirety in just over 25 hours placing them an impressive 70th out of the 280 teams participating. The team raised over £4,500 in sponsorship for the charities which was well in excess of their £3,000 target.

The funds raised will be split between Oxfam and The Gurkhas Welfare Trust to be used in their valuable work. Oxfam works in 94 countries, fighting poverty around the world by responding to emergencies, through development projects and campaigns to tackle the causes of poverty. The Gurkhas Welfare Trust provides financial, medical and community aid to alleviate hardship and distress among Gurkha ex-servicemen and their communities in Nepal.
