Francis Kershaw

Partner

Francis has over 15 years of experience advising families, trusts and entrepreneurial businesses on all aspects of their UK tax and accounting needs.

Francis qualified at PricewaterhouseCoopers first as a Chartered Accountant and then as a Chartered Tax Adviser, advising internationally-mobile executives on their personal tax position and assisting businesses on compliance with cross-border employment tax issues.

He now focuses on advising high net worth individuals and trustees, with a particular emphasis on international aspects of UK taxation and regularly advises on matters including tax residence, domicile and the remittance basis of taxation. His work frequently involves advice with respect to remittance planning for UK expenditure and investment, and the UK tax treatment of offshore investment holding structures and the reliefs available under Double Tax Treaties.

Francis also regularly acts for clients whose tax affairs are subject to HMRC enquiry. His pragmatic approach to negotiations with HMRC has enabled him to develop a strong track record in successfully resolving such enquiries on the best possible terms for the taxpayer.
